Just sharing a few thoughts that have rambled through my brain recently.
• This is the first time in 12 years that we haven’t had a supply list from school. It’s kind of sad. But it’s also nice that we don’t have to fight the crowds for that perfect composition notebook.
• It felt very weird to walk into the high school office and pay Morgan’s registration fees. It was a new territory for me—somewhere I’ve never been before. (Morgan always followed in Jenna’s steps so when she entered a school it wasn’t new to me)
• How did I give birth to a child that doesn’t want to participate in back to school clothes shopping?
• Do I have any Geometry experts in the crowd? Morgan has Geometry the first semester and neither hubby nor I have fond memories or skills from our high school geometry class. We’re hoping her love and strong abilities for all things math continue.
• I can’t wait to see the movie ‘The Help’. It’s getting great reviews. Need to find time for it this weekend.
• Club soccer is back in full swing. Practices will be 3 times a week starting next week. Games will probably start in Sept.
• I wonder if I will ever “like” to run. I do it a couple times a week but it’s only because I need to do it and it’s a good form of exercise outside of weight training. Have I mentioned that getting older stinks? That’s a completely different blog post for another day!
• Why do multiple things start falling apart in your house at the same time? And why do I get accused of going in and out of the garage too many times and thus creating the breakdown of the door?
• I did not win the $220 million Powerball last night. Darn! I had grand plans for that money. A girl can dream, can’t she?
Well, I think that’s probably enough for now. Hope you have a great weekend.

wish I was close enough to go watch The Help with you...I can't wait to see it, either! Have a great weekend! :)
Regarding school supplies, if her high school is anything like DD's, my guess would be that every single teacher will send home her list of items she would like your student to bring either during the Parent Night (before school starts) or on the first day of school. Then you, along with the rest of the high school parents, can frantically fight to snag those last rejected supplies left at the local shopping center. Great fun, I tell you!
Now as to the geometry, I can be a bit more help. Not with the work itself, of course (mathmetician I am NOT!), but with this website
http://www.khanacademy.org/
you can select whichever concept(s) your daughter needs help with and they will walk you through it.
Also, don't forget YouTube! Search for just about any concept out there & you'll find tutorials for it. You might want to weed through though to make sure that they have gotten favorable reviews and such.
Anyway, hope that helps! We survived freshman year and I will be happy to help if I can. :-)
Thanks Shari!
OMG - I'm still trying to catch my breath. I'm in total shock. I'm hoping Ms. Courtney (wasn't that her name) doesn't read your blog. She's going to be so crushed. I'm sure she thought that Geometry was your most favorite high school class. Maybe she'll settle for being your favorite teacher.
Hope you guys are doing well. Thanks for all the updates. Please say hello to your mother.
