A Jumbled post

I have a couple ideas/thoughts for posts on the blog but not a lot of time to sit down and actually write them.  Well, maybe I have the time but not the motivation to get them done.  This post is going to be a jumble of those ideas/thoughts bouncing around in my wee little brain.

1.  I have found another thing on the computer that seems to suck up a lot of time.  It's Pinterest.  It's basically a place where people upload photos of all sorts of things and if you find a picture you like you can "pin" it to a virtual board.  Kind of like a bulletin board of ideas on your computer.  There are lots of home decor things, food & recipes, holiday decorations, cute sayings, etc.  Here are some of my favorite sayings:
This one really applies to 2 people who live in our house but I'm not naming names.  You guys can figure it out I'm sure.
There are a lot of different versions of this one.
Really like this!

2.  I kinda had a "pediatic cancer sucks" pity party this morning.  There are children who I follow on Caringbridge that are in the middle of their battle with cancer.  These aren't children that I know personally but more of a "people I know about" situation and they are from the Charlotte area so same hospitals, doctors, etc.  This morning I read about this precious little girl name Isabella who is fighting one of the nastiest pediatric cancers, neuroblastoma.  She's facing another relapse and this time is having 12 days of  radiation treatments to treat an area in her brain(or maybe it was neck) in addition to the awful chemo.  As I read about how they created a radiation mask and how she is bolted to a table while this large machine rotates around her, it brought back such vivid memories of Jenna's radiation.  Jenna had that mask.  Jenna was bolted to that table 5 days a week for 6 weeks.  It just felt very unfair and not right this morning.  Sometimes the days of looking back at things like that are just hard.  And knowing that these sweet children shouldn't be doing this just adds to it.  It is almost September which means Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.  You'll hear more from me on this subject in Sept.   There's a neat fundraiser in the Charlotte area.  More info on it to come as well.
Well, that just sort of put a downer on things, didn't it?  I just needed to get it out I guess.

3.  Trying to lighten it back up.  What are some of your all time favorite TV shows?  The ones you remember watching as you were growing up or the ones from high school & college.  Here are a few of mine. (and yes, some of them will age me)
  1. Happy Days
  2. Mash
  3. The Cosby Show
  4. Cheers
  5. Moonlighting - I loved Dave and Maddie
  6. Friends
  7. Seinfeld
  8. Saturday Night Live
Ok, that's probably enough.
4.  Back to school has been relatively uneventful.  Morgan loves high school and has no complaints about any of her classes yet. (well, there is one semi boring teacher)  She appears to "get" geometry so far and has already identified a couple kids in class who are already "clueless".  She's also getting her usual "what's our homework" or "how do we..." texts as well.  All is normal here in that department.

5.  Soccer.  Back in full swing with preseason tournaments.  A couple shots from last weekends games.
They look pretty much like all the others except Morgan is about 2 inches taller now.
I think that's enough for this jumbled post.  And it's almost Friday....I'm going to have to find us some Friday music for tomorrow.

I'm amazed at how big your caring heart is... it would be so much easier to close it off... but you remember and we remember with you!

As for childhood TV: Wild, Wild West; Brady Bunch & Partridge Family; Daniel Boone (really); then Carol Burnett in Jr High (Guam); and I don't recall TV during high school/college - it was all about STUDYING (& maybe boys). :-)
