Keeping it brief on Thursday

It's the time of year where we're all going in a hundred different directions doing a hundred different things. I won't take up much of your time with a big long post today.  I'll just give you a brief update on the latest around here.
  • We delivered our Christmas gifts to the pediatric oncology clinic today.  This year we got to shop for a 3 yr old girl who is the patient and her 6 yr old brother.  It was so much fun buying toys and shopping for little girl clothes.  We were able to see Dr. Golembe (Jenna's oncologist) and Sharon from Child Life and a couple other folks we know from our "clinic days".  It was a good day.  (except for the school giving Morgan grief when she went back to school without an "excuse"....apparently doing good and giving back to help pediatric cancer patients and their family has to be pre-approved)
  • I actually listened to Christmas music for the first time today.  Ya'll know I avoid it like the plague for the first couple weeks of December (and some years even longer) but I felt like it was "ok" today.  I'm not going crazy and listen to only Christmas but it was a nice change.  Like my last post....just a "hint" of Christmas music.
  • Morgan is in winter soccer academy.  She had about 2 weeks off and now she's back training and conditioning.  This is separate from school and club.  It's the same program she participates in during the summer.
  • My house is decorated.  Tree is up. Mantle is decorated.  Christmas kitchen elves are out.  The only thing missing is something for my dining room table.  I'm just not liking anything I've got right now.  Betty is on a mission so I'm sure there will be something there very soon.
  • We have nothing on the calendar for this weekend.  I am very excited.  I like low key weekends during the holidays.  It's nice to be home with the tree lights on and snuggled under a blanket reading or watching TV.  It kind of makes up for those weekends later on when you are busy with parties and other holiday social functions.
Since I said I would be brief, I will stop here.
Have a great weekend....even if it's warm and doesn't feel anything like December around here.
Tricia
