Summer

School is out and summer is here.  Except the weather has been kind of cool and hasn't felt like summer.  And here I am acting like an old person and talking about the weather.  Be prepared folks, this looks like the beginning of a pretty rambling post.  I was actually trying to think of a way to say it is summer and I'm feeling like there may not be a whole lot of blogging the next few months.  I might be wrong and change my mind but right now I'm not feeling it.  Summer is a time to be outside and on the go.  Not a time for sitting in front of a computer telling you how dull and boring our summer has been.  Ok, maybe it won't be dull and boring but there's only so much material I'll have to work with.
Let me catch you up on a few things.   Where should I start?
  • Morgan is out of school and still playing soccer.  Big shocker, right?  She's actually been practicing with her club team for the upcoming regionals tournament.  They will be in this tournament because of their big state championship back in November.  They are all very excited.  They will be playing teams from TX, LA, & GA.
  • Speaking of Morgan.  She finished her freshman year with straight A's (both semesters).  We are very proud of her.  She asked for a new pair of tennis shoes as a reward for achieving straight A's.  (we usually do a big dinner at a fancy restaurant)  Here's what she picked out:
I don't think we'll have trouble finding her when she's wearing these.  They are neon pinkish/orange color.
  • We attended several graduation parties last week.  We enjoyed them but it was bittersweet and we definitely missed our girl.  Thanks to all who reached out and thought about us during this time.  It was appreciated.   It's hard to believe Jenna would have graduated and be heading off to college this fall.  Where do the years go?  I'm too young to have a child that age.  :-)
  • Please pray for this precious little girl and her family.  I do not know them personally but I've followed the story and I know right know they desparately need prayers. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/isabellasantos  No parent should be dealing with this!
  • I am REALLY enjoying my reduced work schedule.  I am getting so many things done and I'm making big plans for a lot of projects.  My closet is my current project.  Pinterest is a good and bad thing in this situation. I've got way too many ideas.
I think that's enough rambling for now. Hope you're all enjoying your summer!
Tricia
