This and That

You'll have to bear with me on this post because I have a lot of things to cover.  Well, maybe more pictures than actual things to discuss.
1.  A week ago the booster club hosted another kickball tournament to help raise funds for middle school sports.  It was a big success.  Here's a couple shots of Morgan and her team.  (totally surprised me that the boys were all ok with the pink --I think one or two of them may have come up with the idea.)
Getting ready to play.
The team.
No idea what she was doing here.
2.  The Kick-It event at Morgan's school was a huge success.  They raised $3873.61 for childhood cancer research!!!  The event was very well done.  They had a great and impactful assembly that really "brought it home" to the kids.  I think childhood cancer is a little more real to many 8th graders now  And they did a wonderful slideshow tribute to Jenna.  Talk about a tear jerker!! I can't tell you how proud and humbled  I was to have Jenna remembered by the school and the students.  They are going to make this an annual event at the school too.  Yay!  (I'm going to see if I can get some photos from the day--I only went to the assembly)
3.  I am also very proud of Miss Morgan.  She received several awards at the schools 8th grade awards day.  (one of them was a pretty big deal too--like the highest award given to an 8th grade girl and boy)  Yes, that's the proud mom talking!

4.  We've had a great, low key Memorial Day weekend.  Speaking of that--I am very thankful for those who sacrificed their lives for our country and  honor those who continue to protect us.
5.  I had fun shopping with Fancy on Saturday!  There were great sales and found some good work basics.  (which is totally no fun BTW) :-)
6.  It is amazing how much entertainment can be found in a $15 hammock.  Morgan has totally enjoyed it.
The trusty sidekick--always there.

7.  For those who followed the blog last summer and kept up with my massive and ever growing sweet potatoe vine, I don't think it will happen this year.  (gasp from the masses!)  So far, I haven't planted a single thing in the waterfall planter!  Just haven't gotten around to it.  Luckily a few pansies have come up and it doesn't look quite so bare.  That's what I keep telling myself anyway.  Here's what it looks like now.

Hope everyone is ready for the last few days of school.  I know a certain 8th grader is just about ready to count down the hours until summer break begins!
Take care, Tricia
