Do you ever sit down with the remote and start surfing thru the channels and come across a movie that you just HAVE to stop and watch? It happened to me last night and it prompted me to create a list of movies that I always watch when I come across them while channel surfing. Now I will admit I don't always watch the entire movie--sometimes it's just a few minutes or maybe I flip between the movie and something else. It just depends on the movie, the mood I'm in, and how much grief I'm catching from other members of the family!
Here are the movies that always make my remote stop:
This is the one that I found last night. A classic-Gone With The Wind. Who doesn't love Scarlett O'Hara? I once had a cat that I named Scarlett because I got her right after I'd seen the movie on TV.

Steel Magnolias. This one always makes me cry and laugh. Love the part where Clairee tries to get M'Lynn to slap Ouiser after the funeral! I've even had friends offer to find people for me to slap because of this movie. Love it!

Grease. Ok, this one dates me but I remember going to the movies to see this one. I had the album that looked just like this. You just have to stop and sing along with a couple of the numbers. They don't make good musicals like this anymore. LOL

The Notebook. This one is right up there with Gone With the Wind. How can you let the remote pass this one? I mean, we're talking about true love and soulmates....doesn't get any better.

Animal House. Ok, totally crazy but still love to watch it. Some of the best quotes & ideas ever came from this movie....who doesn't remember wearing a toga or dancing to "Shout" at some point in your life. (for the record I never went to a toga party but did dress in one for Halloween once-I was a great Cleopatra!)

Pretty Woman. Can't really explain this one....just always liked it. Loved Julia Roberts and Richard Gere together. And he did save the girl from the tower in the end--totally romantic! LOL!!

And finally, because it is the season for it. It's a Wonderful Life. No need to explain this one. Got to love hearing bells after seeing this.

So, that's my list. I'm sure there are others but they didn't come to my brain in time to make this blog. Obviously no Oscar winners here except for Gone With the Wind.....they're just movies that make me smile, remember a time, a place or a person, make me cry, or simply take me away from it all for a short period of time. And that's all good to me.
Love, Tricia
