Saying Goodbye

We have had a rough time around here.  We had to say goodbye to our dog Wilson.  He was in pain and suffering and we knew it was time and what had to be done.  Doing the right thing sure didn't make it any easier.  He was a beloved member of our family for 9 years.  He joined us about 10 months after Jenna was diagnosed with cancer and he immediately brought joy and laughter to our house.  And I was totally suckered when someone said he wouldn't be more than 75-85 lbs cause that's the size of his parents.  He topped out at 115-120 but the vet said he wasn't over weight.  He was just big.  There are SO many memories of Wilson and the girls.  They loved him and spent hours playing with him....or laughing at him.  He liked to dig, chew on landscape lights, and bark whenever anyone got on the slide by the pool.
I thought it would be appropriate to post some fun photos of Wilson for this thankful Thursday.  We are so thankful for him and miss him terribly.  (I can't tell you the amount of tears we've shed and the hearts that hurt because he's not here)
Nothing like the unconditional love of a good dog to bring happiness to a family.  We miss you buddy.
